Well here we are at the end of January already, Spring must be just around the corner (ha, ha,,,we hope!!!). We are cruising along with the odd job here and there, the Signal box panel is progressing very well, and the photos, hopefully, will give you some idea of the panel. Brackers and Ray (The Elder), have been busy for weeks now tracing and checking all the wiring and circuitry out to the points and signals, to ensure they are all working, correctly colour coded and noted on the diagrams of the systems, quite a task !
The new control panel in position and being tested, with electrical switches controlling numbered points, signals and calling on signals, smart eh ?
Most of Isabel's work is more or less done now and she had an 'air' test via the compressor the other day to confirm the pistons were working properly, so she can come off the stand to make room for Hotspur, as the new boiler is ready for collection, so the Boys can now have lots of fun putting it all back together again!!
We are converting Ken's twin seat carriage into a Guards vehicle, as we would like to try having a separate Guards vehicle at the end of our trains which will free a seat in each set, and give the Guards a bit more room to store their bits and pieces!! (no comment, use your imagination?!!!).
John busy with new handbrake installation on the prototype Guards 'vehicle' !

The base for the loco pit cover is just about ready for concreting, the coal bunker has been moved and the track at the back of the pit extended so we can accommodate a 3 car set with a loco over the pit if necessary. This will also give us a bit more storage track. The coal bunker is being fitted with doors and shelves at one end to store oil, parafin etc.
