Spring is on the way !

Stage 3B

As you can see from the photos, good progress is being made with the additional Stage 3B trackwork. The top photo shows the new point giving access to Stage 3B being fitted in on Wednesday this week, and the other two show the revised track and points allowing access back into the station area..

We are also progressing the treatment of the workshop & loco shed elevations in our green & cream colours, and work is continuing with Lucille's improvements which include new sight glasses, a hand pump to help out when the injectors won't !, and she is due for a repaint .....so still lots to do before our first Open Day in May, and we can just feel the Spring like weather forcing nature to do what she has to do with the new growth of grass and general tree & shrub vegetation, all of which needs to be restrained, often !

A February Day at the ALR

We are progressing well with a number of jobs during this Winter spell, although it has to be said we are not suffering as much as many other parts of this wonderful land! Yesterday saw a half dozen or so members busy with.....
.....more progress on Wagon/Coach 40 which is nearly complete and has had its first 'running ' trials.....yesterday saw glazing panels being cut .....

...The General was receiving a body paint uplift!

.....we have also completed the installation of the revised track layout in front of the shed which will make loco movements to and from trains much easier.....

...and last weekend saw more action on Stage 3b with the trackbed excavation started and the conduit for the signalling cabling installed.
